LAUSD Region West College & Career Fair 2025 Region West College & Career Fair 2025 Show Transcript I am Dr. Denise Collier and I am the Region West Superintendent. This is an awesome event. We want to make sure our kids are ready for the world. My advice for students is that you use this as an opportunity to ask questions, find out new information, find universities you've never heard of, find out about colleges and careers you've never heard of. We are here celebrating College and Career awareness to celebrate our students and provide them with opportunities and access for colleges careers and ongoing support. This is an opportunity for students to network with colleges and career professionals seeking opportunities, finding out their next path. My career goal is to be a radiologist technician. My career goal is to be a costume designer in the film industry. My career goal is to be a sports graphic designer for the NHL. First, future seniors in my position do your work, stay on task and really really pay attention because it's a lot of opportunities out there. I would say as a senior, you should try to join as many activities as possible and make your last year count. Just do your best personally as long as you focus on yourself and what you need to do I feel like you'll be fine. Explore, go crazy. Don't ever get discouraged you know what I'm saying like it's always about building and trying to be your best self. We want to show the connection between the diverse student body. The general assembly was a vibrant Showcase of talent featuring performances by students from Venice, Westchester, and Hamilton High Schools. The event also featured special guests including a current NFL Rams player, Tommy the Clown, and a festive mariachi band. Our primary goal was to motivate seniors and encourage them to pursue post-secondary education. To achieve this we hosted workshops on PIQ and financial aid for both students and parents. Students were also given the opportunity to speak to over one hundred College and Career representatives and tour the beautiful West Los Angeles College. Our goal in LAUSD is for our students to be college prepared, career ready, and also ready for the world.
